Ectopic pregnancy happens when the fertilized embryo gets stuck in the fallopian tube instead of settling down and implanting into the womb or uterus. Considering that the tube can not hold the pregnancy for a long period of time, after a point it bursts and produces an extremely hazardous situation for the patient which if not dealt with in time, can produce a life and death scenario.
