Consumption of alcohol and toxic substances have become a norm these days, as people all over the world are consuming large quantities of alcohol on a daily basis, making it a part of their everyday routine. Even though most of them know about the negative effects of alcohol and smoking, there are a very few who consider quitting. Consuming alcohol causes damage to each and every organ that is present in your body and a person who has been drinking for a long period of time is in massive danger of multiple organ failure which can result in death eventually. While most people focus these negative effects on males and females, not a lot of attention has been given to the effects of alcohol on the body of pregnant women. This article will specifically focus on the fact that alcohol consumption is highly dangerous for the pregnant women and the baby.
Alcohol consumption reduces the chances of conception greatly. One might think that moderate alcohol intake wouldn’t cause that much damage since it is excess of everything that causes harm. However, medicine has proven that even a moderate amount of alcohol can lead to infertility problems amongst women. This is due to the fact that alcohol directly damages the reproductive organs of the female, lowering the chances of conception overall. Hence, if you are planning to start a family in the near future or ever plan to be a mom, then it is advisable to refrain from its usage, since it is always better to be safe than sorry.
Females should know that medicine has proven the fact that there is no amount of alcohol that is right to consume when it comes to fertility, as the smallest amount of intake can also make you infertile. Hence, if you have been drinking, then you should think about quitting immediately before any long term damage occurs. This isn’t only true for women but men as well; since alcohol consumption has been directly related to production of abnormal sperm in males that is unable to travel into the female reproductive system to join with the egg. Hence, alcoholic women should not only stop drinking themselves, but also talk to their spouse of their partner, if they plan on starting a family sometime in the near future or even in the long term since the negative effects of alcohol are permanent and cannot be reversed.
