Taking care of your stubborn belly and your back:
At first I reversed my leading button, half in denial my tummy was growing. I had to reverse the leading button and part of the zip and wear a longer top. I used to look at my belly in the mirror, not rather sure what to make from it. If you understand that your tummy is going to grow, I can’t see any point in doing tummy workouts. After a certain point they become questionable anyhow. What you can definitely do throughout your pregnancy is take extra good care of your posture.
Practice this:
- Stand with your feet hip width apart, knees unlocked
- Envision you are being brought up by the top of your head and extend the spinal column (this is how you need to hold yourself all the time! Practice returning to how you were and feel the difference)
- By lengthening your spine you must feel that you are instantly pulling in your belly muscles. Check by looking at your stomach button and draw in your muscles. Practice the excellent posture points all the time and after that make certain you can pull in your belly muscles. Some ladies lose the capability to do this whilst pregnant and it then takes a long time getting it back. Keeping your stomach muscles contracted in a great posture exercise likewise secures and supports the lower back.
- Whilst practicing the drawing in of the stomach muscles, you might too practice contracting your pelvic flooring muscles at the exact same time. Do this “invisible exercise” a couple of times a day.
- Relax your shoulders and think of the area between your shoulders and your ears. Keep your neck long and be careful not to protrude your chin.
And then there are an entire load of things you can’t do anything about: swelling and water retention, varicose/thread veins and so on. The majority of those pregnancy symptoms are short-lived! And if they are not perhaps you can discover a different method of looking at those “imperfections”. I have a caesarean scar left over from my very first child and a permanent bruise on my leg from my 2nd baby. They are the 2 marks I bring as a memory of a very special time in my life.
As being pregnant for many individuals is a “one or two times in a lifetime” occasion, make sure you take care of yourself. From a mental and emotional perspective you may want to keep a journal or some sort of log about how you are feeling and experiencing all of it. Surround yourself with positive individuals who are sharing your joy and anticipation. If being pregnant draws out a requirement to think, be still or be innovative then ensure you listen to those triggers and make time for it in your life.
