There is a global crisis in maternal health care for black ladies. In the United States, black ladies are over three times more likely to perish from pregnancy-related issues than white women; their children are half as likely to make it through the very first year. Numerous black women experience policing, browbeating, and disempowerment during pregnancy and childbirth and are detached from alternative birthing traditions.
