Choosing Your Baby's Gender: 3 Simple Methods

You’ve decided choosing your baby’s gender is in your best interest. Maybe you have been disappointed in the past. Many couples are blessed with children, but sometimes they are all the same gender. This in itself can be very disappointing, especially if you have always wanted at least one child of each gender. Rather it’s about balancing your family or having your first child be the boy or girl you always wanted, you can practice these 3 simple methods and succeed in choosing your baby’s gender today.

Method # 1: Eating “Right” Before Pregnancy

It is a fact that eating healthy is vital for a healthy pregnancy, but when choosing the gender of your baby, you should eat healthy prior to pregnancy. So, what is the whole concept behind eating “right?” Well, there are certain foods you need to integrate into your diet depending on the gender you favor. These foods influence your body’s pH level and create an optimal environment for the baby of your choice. Your body’s pH is either acidic or alkaline and can be determined with an over-the-counter test. For those of you who would like to conceive a boy, it is important your body’s pH be alkaline. This pH level is a nurturing environment for the sperm with the boy’s traits (or Y-chromosome). On the other hand, for those of you who would like to conceive a little girl, you need to have an acidic pH level. This environment is conducive for the sperm carrying the girl’s traits (or X-chromosome). The boy’s sperm does not survive in an acidic environment, which increases your chances of having the little girl you always wanted.

Method #2: Accurately Calculating Ovulation

Majority of couples know that having intercourse during ovulation increases their chances of pregnancy. However, not all couples get this step right when planning to have a baby. To accurately calculate your ovulation, use an over-the-counter fertility device. You will be glad you purchased this device because it will give you the best results, especially with the variations in ovulation. Once you get the correct date, you can time when to begin intercourse depending on the gender you want. If you would like to have a little boy, you need to time intercourse as close as possible to your ovulation; a day before or during the ovulation period. This gives the sperm with the boy’s traits (or Y-chromosome) a chance to reach and fertilize the egg with their short lifespan and fast swimming. On the contrary, for a little girl, intercourse should occur several days before ovulation. This sperm (or X-chromosome) has a longer lifespan and are slower swimmers than the boy’s sperm. In addition, the boy’s sperm is less likely to survive long enough to penetrate the egg several days before ovulation, therefore giving the girl’s sperm a much higher chance of fertilization.

Method #3: Having Intercourse

The last, but not least method; intercourse. Yes it is a no brainer intercourse must take place for a natural pregnancy, but what type? This method must be carefully followed if you are truly serious about choosing the gender of your child. As mentioned, the sperm carrying the boy’s traits swims fast, but lives for a short period of time. Therefore, if you’re interested in having a boy, you need to use positions that will get those little guys as close as possible to the egg from the beginning (e.g. deep penetrating positions). If you’re interested in having a girl, you need to focus on positions that allow these slow swimmers to reach and penetrate the egg (e.g. shallow penetrating positions). The positions will all depend on you and your partner’s height.

All 3 of these methods are equally important and simple to follow. You know you want a boy OR girl, so why be disappointed when you don’t get what you want? Use the 3 natural methods and have the healthy baby you always dreamed of.
