If I Want A Boy Baby And Have Ovulated, Then Is Daytime Or Nighttime Better For Conception?

I sometimes hear from people who have waited to consider the specifics of their conception until after ovulation has already occurred. Perhaps they have been testing their ovulation and they have just gotten a positive reading. Or, perhaps they suspect ovulation because they have been cramping. Whatever the reason, they now know that they can now become pregnant and they want to know the optical time to have sex in order to conceive the gender of their choice. For the purposes of this article, the gender of their choice will be a boy baby.

I might hear a comment like: “my husband and I want a boy baby. I’ve been testing for ovulation and I’ve found that I ovulated this morning. Should I try to have sex in the morning or at night? And which day is going to be optimal? Should I have sex right away? Or wait?”

I can tell you my opinion on this. When ovulation has already happened, you have a very limited period of time in order to become pregnant because your egg is only going to be viable for a short period of time. Also, I believe that it’s a bad idea to attempt to conceive too far after ovulation because a weakened or deteriorating egg isn’t the optimal situation.

Luckily, when you want a boy baby, having sex after ovulation is the right timing. Since the Y or boy producing sperm doesn’t live for very long, it’s best to wait until ovulation to maximize its short life span. However, as I alluded to before, once you know for sure that you have ovulated, you don’t have a lot of time or a lot of luxury to wait around. So, skipping the morning if you have the opportunity to conceive and then waiting for the evening is only wasting an opportunity to become pregnant.

Although there is some theories that sperm count is highest in the morning, this isn’t thought to influence baby gender. So if you have the opportunity to go ahead and conceive in the morning, there is nothing wrong with that. There is also nothing wrong with conceiving at night also. It will often really depend upon the schedules of you and your partner. Sometimes, you have to work late or leave for work early. So any time that is going to be convenient for you will work. Keep in mind, that you probably only have a couple of days where your egg will still be viable. So any time during that window where you can have sex is going to give you the chance to become pregnant.

And although this timing favors a boy, it’s not the only variable to consider. Timing is important. But also important is vaginal PH (which should be alkaline when you are trying for a boy) and the sexual positions that you use when you’re attempting to conceive. So, to answer the original question posed, I don’t think that there is any reason to be picky on your timing after ovulation when you want a boy. Any time during the first couple of days after ovulation is a good idea. And if you forego opportunities for another time, then you could potentially be wasting opportunities. And since you’re only fertile in this way for once a month for most women, it really doesn’t make a lot of sense to waste any opportunity.
