33 Weeks Pregnant - Bump Update

Let me start off this post by saying holy crap I’m exhausted! I literally could sleep all day if my schedule allowed for it! Lately it’s been like the gym? Nah, the bed looks so much better. I hate feeling this way but it comes with the territory I suppose. All women experience pregnancy in different ways and some have higher energy levels than others but that certainly isn’t me even though I wish it was!

What’s baby doing?

Not too many things happening this week with my little peanut. Her kicks are strong and she hiccups a few times a day (And I called the doctor and it’s completely normal). Now that my amniotic fluid is maxed out, her movements will continue to get stronger and feel more intense in these next few weeks. She’s between 17 and 19 inches in length and could grow up to another inch this week. She’s weighing in at over four and a half pounds and is still gaining about a half a pound a week. It’s so weird to think that she closes her eyes when she sleeps and has them open while she’s awake.

My stats:

Symptoms:

• Heartburn
• Peeing so often it’s annoying
• Swollen feet
• Exhaustion
• Braxton Hicks Contractions

Weight:

Not exactly sure how much I weigh but I do have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow where unfortunately, I’ll find out. Getting on the scale is NOT something I look forward to these days.

Body changes:

Well for one thing, my feet are always hurting and my ankles swell almost everyday, my little innie of a belly button is slowly becoming an outtie, and my boobs feel enormous. I currently don’t have any stretch marks and I’m hoping they don’t appear within the last few weeks. I do have to say I’m a very lucky girl because my husband rubs my feet almost feet almost every night. Thanks honey!

How I’m feeling:

I feel pretty good for the most part about becoming a mother. I never imagined being a wife let alone a mom but now that it’s happening, I’m nothing but overjoyed. I do have days where I worry about being able to be a good mother and I worry about not knowing exactly what to do when it comes to a newborn baby, but I know that being a mother is a learning process and I won’t be perfect, but I’ll do the very best I can and that’s what’s important.

What I miss:

Two things: beer and my usual workouts. I’m not a huge drinker but I enjoy going out for dinner and ordering a beer or two so that’s been something I’ve missed for sure. And after a long day, who doesn’t enjoy a nice, refreshing beer? I used to go to the gym 5-6 days a week and I’ve missed that greatly. I still go to the gym but it’s hard when your feet are killing you and you’re exhausted all the time!

Cravings:

Milk, milk, and more milk! I’ve always loved milk but I have been craving it SO much that it even makes my husband sick. Ha! I’m not a big sweets person but I’ve been enjoying some mango sherbert.

Food Aversions:

Fish and broccoli. Yuck! Salmon is great for you they say, eat more salmon it’s great for the baby! Barf! I made some salmon last week and only ate a little before pushing my plate aside and tossing out the leftovers. The smell of broccoli makes me want to vomit so putting it near my mouth is NOT going to happen.

Special highlights for the week:

My husband is in the military so we live far away from our family and friends so needless to say we’re not having a baby shower so our close family sent us a ton of things for the baby which was amazing and so generous of them. We feel so blessed and lucky to have such amazing family and friends and it’s a wonderful feeling to know that distance isn’t changing our relationships. So a big thank you again to those who have sent us things for our baby girl. We love you all.

And that’s it for this weeks update! Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and a safe weekend and see you next week!
