MAY 21, 2020: Pregnant feral catermelon Sahara joined Stella today in the Feral Maternity Ward. Feral moms are typically pretty accustomed to raising their kittycats with other felines around, however we are monitoring really closely to make sure both mom felines are pleased with each other’s friendship.

MAY 8, 2020: Stella needed to have an emergency situation c-section after she started bleeding without having contractions. Thanks to the amazing group at Mountain View Veterinary Healthcare facility, she gave birth to 5 stunning kittycats. Sadly, two were stillborn and we were unable to restore them. Three survived and we are doing everything we can to provide the very best possible opportunity to flourish. Stella is recovering effectively, and her uterus has actually lastly been retired. Kitties are named: Twinkle (torbie lady), Thomas (ginger tuxie boy), Nash (ginger young boy), Dorado (ginger kid, stillborn), Corvus (ginger kid with kinked tail, stillborn).

Please note: Stella is a rescued feral cat, and her environment, the method we engage with her, and so on are all tailored to minimize tension and maximize comfort whilst in captivity. If you have concerns about why things are the way they are, please ask! There’s a factor for whatever, and we have very good success using these techniques.:-RRB-.

Each feral feline is different, and our job is to balance discovering where their limits are, knowing when and how far to push borders to enable growth, and respecting boundaries enough to establish trust. In Stella’s case, we want to push her as much as possible prior to kittens are born to make it less stressful for her if she happens to need intervention throughout labor, and when we require to gain access to kitties to weigh them and make sure they are healthy.

APR 19 2020: Feral catermelon Stella has actually finally been caught! Her kitties will be adopted into caring houses, and we will let Stella inform us whether she is all set for life with humans or whether she would be happiest returning to her feral forest family in our managed Delighted Forest nest.
