The Bible does not mention the word “abortion”, but we have an indication of it in Exodus 21: 22-25. According to the Bible, “If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit departs from her, and yet no mischief follows: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him: and he shall pay as the judge determines. And if any mischief follow, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.”
If a person attacks a family, where a pregnant woman lives, the attacking person will receive punishment. The severity of the punishment will depend upon the condition of the baby.
If the woman has a miscarriage, her husband decides what type of punishment the responsible person must receive. If the baby survives, the wrongdoer will get less punishment. On the other hand, if the baby dies, the responsible person will receive a death sentence. This is why abortion is equal to the killing of a human being. From the statement of the Bible, it is very clear that an unborn child is like a person.
On the other hand, abortion is the process of the deliberate termination of a baby from its mother’s womb. Practising this process, one can murder a baby untimely. This is why abortion is a wrong practice, which murders babies. It is an unpardonable crime.
Biblical Opinion about Abortion
The Bible strongly and indirectly condemns abortion. According to the Bible, it is a severe crime, which snatches one’s life. As the consequence of this method, a person loses the liberty of living. This is why it is an attempt to go against the God and his given rights. The practitioners must go to hell. Human being is the son of the God. The God indirectly forbids practising this method. Therefore, we should not go against our father (the God) by practising this method. We must stop it now.
There is a common axiom, “Prevention is better than cure”. Therefore, we must take care of it so that an unwanted baby cannot come to a mother’s womb. Rather than destroying it, we should follow some prevention methods.
Approximate Abortion Cost
An abortion costs between $350 – $500, depending on the doctor and the condition of the mother. This cost is applicable for the primary stage. But when the time becomes more than 20 weeks, a person is expected to pay $1,000 or more.
